What You Need To Know

  • 8th Molto Bella Auto Show was held at Stan Hywet with the historic Manor House and Gardens as a backdrop
  • More than 300 classic, exotic and sports cars were on display at the event
  • Around 4,000 people came to the auto show

More than 300 classic, exotic and sports cars were on display at the historic property.

Around 4,000 people from across the state attended this event to get an up close look at some of the unique cars.

The money raised at the event support both the Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and the Kidney Foundation.

Charles Ault and his wife Linda brought their 1958 El Dorado to the show.

The pair bought the car back in the late 70s.

“Anything that you treasure, you need to take care of,” Ault said.

Sunday’s car show was especially meaningful for the couple, because Stan Hywet is where they got married on Oct. 11 of 1975.

The couple says they enjoy coming back to the historic Hall and Gardens in Akron as often as they can.

“It’s a treasure, a lot of treasures we have lost,” Ault said. “This is one that we have had that we keep and enjoy for many more generations.”

Much like the grounds at Stan Hywet, Ault takes great care of the things that he loves, like his wife and his car.

“Take care of it, whether it is a car, or any type of treasure you might have,” he said. “If you take care of it, it will last longer, you’ll appreciate it longer.”

The couple enjoyed sharing their passion for classic cars with the thousands of people who attended the event and the friendships that they made.

“You’ve got good food, and comradery, and people come up and ask you about your car, which makes you feel good and just seeing the interest that we still have for an event like this.”
