Boggs has collected Star Wars themed action figures for over 30 years.

“There was nothing like it when it came out when I was a kid,” said Boggs. “So I thought it was great stories and everybody wanted to be Luke Skywalker or Han Solo or sometimes somebody wanted to be Chewbacca, you know, and iconic Darth Vader is so iconic.”

He’s a part of more than six collectors’ clubs nationwide including Ohio Star Wars Collector’s Club, Kentucky’s Star Wars Collector’s Club, and Indiana’s Star Wars Collecting Community. He has more than 2,000 figures in his store.

“There’s just so much about Star Wars and, you know, the fandom and how we kind of unite and get together and enjoy Star Wars and make new friends,” said Boggs.

May 4 may be his favorite day of the year.

“I think it’s really cool to have a day to celebrate Star Wars,” Boggs said. “I think my next favorite day is National Hot Dog Day.”

This May 4, is even more special as it falls in the 50th anniversary year of Lucasfilm, the production company that created Star Wars.

“There’s many different Star Wars fans, there’s so many people that love the movies, there’s people that just like the animated series, there’s people that just like to cosplay, there’s people that collect,” Boggs said. “There’s so many different realms of Star Wars fandom.”

It’s a day for Star Wars fans across the world to unite and celebrate the iconic film series. Boggs doesn’t just celebrate Star Wars on this day, but every day.

“May the fourth be with you!” said Boggs.
