Pilot, passenger on board plane that crashed in Scioto County killed

MCDERMOTT, Ohio — Authorities said a small plane crashed in Scioto County around 11 a.m. Friday morning near state Route 104 and Sheep Ranch Road in a wooded area.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) said no one on board survived the crash. The two people on board, the pilot and a passenger, died. 

OSHP said the plane crashed into a hillside wooded area. 

The plane was a 2015 Lancair Evolution, which seats four.

The identities of those on board have not been released. 

The FAA and NTSB has been contacted and will conduct investigations of their own.
