OHIO — Some Ohio families started the new year with a new bundle of joy.
One of the first babies born in 2022 in Ohio was Nolan Leon Fent.
Nolan was born at midnight on New Year’s Day, measuring in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 21 inches long at Mercy Health – Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio.
His mother, Sarah Fent, said she waited all day to go to the hospital because she no long could bear the pain.
“I got to the hospital at 11:30 p.m. and he couldn’t wait any longer. He wanted to be the big bang to 2022. I’m so happy my baby made it into this world. I still can’t believe I had him at 12 o’clock on the dot,” Fent said in a press release from Mercy Health hospital.
Several hours later, Riley Kevin Edmonds was born to parents Kati and Jordan Edmonds, of Delaware, Ohio, at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
Riley was among several babies born on New Year’s Day at OSU, said Serena Smith, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.
He was born at 9:08 a.m., weighing 8 pounds and 6 ounces.
