CLEVELAND — As reported COVID-19 cases drop in northeast Ohio, a pair of area libraries are resuming in-person operations.
Both the Cleveland Public Library and the Cuyahoga County Public Library have announced that in-person services are resuming.
The Cleveland Public Library will resume in-person services on Wednesday with capacity limits and mandatory masking. The library will continue offering curbside and walk-up pickup and virtual programs. The library said that in-person programs will resume March 7.
The Cuyahoga County Public Library reopened its doors Tuesday morning. The library system will also continue to offer curbside or drive-through pickup.
The library’s meeting rooms will remain closed and programs will be held virtually until further notice.
The area has seen declining COVID-19 case rates, according to the Ohio Department of Health. The area has also seen a decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations. According to the Ohio Hospital Association, there has been a 22% drop in COVID-19 hospitalizations in northeast Ohio in the last week.
The libraries closed their doors during the last week of December due to rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
