SANDUSKY, Ohio — After facing staffing shortages at times during the 2021 season, Cedar Point announced Tuesday plans to hire 6,500 seasonal employees for the 2022 season.
The Sandusky-based amusement park said it’s offering a starting wage of $15 an hour for most non-tipped positions. To quell the labor shortage in 2021, Cedar Point offered a starting salary of $20. The amusement park was closed on some weekdays early in the season because of the labor shortage.
Cedar Point said its hiring for the following positions:
- Bartenders and Servers (tipped positions)
- Custodial
- Food & Beverage
- Guest Services and Events
- Hotel Operations
- Ride Operations
- Security
- Skill Trade Maintenance
Cedar Point said it also has a number of management positions open. A full listing of jobs is available on its website.
The amusement park opens to the public May 7. Cedar Point is raising its gate ticket prices to $85 — which is $10 more than last year.
