Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues after Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered a “special military operation” on its neighbor.

Ukraine’s health minister said Saturday that 198 people, including three children, were killed; More than 1,000 other individuals have been wounded. Ukraine says some 3,500 Russian troops have been killed and 200 have been captured.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a Facebook post Sunday that 352 civilians have been killed since Russia’s invasion of the country began, including 14 children.

The Biden administration on Friday sanctioned Putin directly, and on Saturday the U.S. and allies announced that selected Russian banks will be disconnected from the SWIFT messaging system in an effort to ramp up pressure on Russia for its actions in Ukraine.
