COLUMBUS, Ohio — A portion of I-71 North near Polaris is closed down after police responded to an “active shooter” situation, which officials said is contained.
“Officers responded to an active shooter on I- 71 (north of Gemini Place) which resulted in an officer involved shooting. I-71 North will be shut down at I-270. I-71 S will be down to one lane at Gemini Place,” CPD wrote on its Twitter

Police are asking the public to avoid the area. No officers are hurt, but the suspect is in critical condition.
