More than two months have passed since Russia invaded Ukraine, with seemingly no end in sight to the bloody conflict which has left thousands dead, including numerous civilians.

Russian President Vladimir Putin used a May 9 address – Russia’s “Victory Day,” marking 77 years since the Soviet Union defeated Nazi Germany in World War II – to justify his invasion in Ukraine, saying that he was acting preemptively stopping aggression, but did not declare victory or give any indication where the months long conflict is heading.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised Monday that “soon there will be two Victory Days in Ukraine.”
