HILLIARD, Ohio — A neighbor saw a need and took action to help support a family in her community. When Beth Tosco found out she wasn’t eligible to register to be a stem cell donor, she found another way to support her neighbors.
Peyton, 8, has leukemia, and he’s been in the hospital since March.
He is the reason Tosco organized a stem cell donor registration drive March 14.
“If we can get people to understand it’s a plasma draw and it can save a life, that’s my goal,” Tosco said as she worked during the event.
Her family also works to help others in the community.
“It is very important to her to help that family out, so we are here to support her and, by extension, Peyton,” said Tosco’s son-in-law, James.
