COLUMBUS, Ohio — A new exhibit at The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens allows visitors to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and cultures of Latin America.

Entitled “Diálogos,” seven local artists contributed to the conservatory’s latest exhibit. Through a variety of artistic mediums, the exhibit explored their experiences while addressing themes of dislocation, integration, cultural identity and politics.

Curators Elena Osterwalder and Eglé Gatins have worked together for two decades and collaborated to bring Diálogos before the greater Columbus community.

“When I walked in and I saw it all put together, all I could say was, ‘wow, this is really neat,’” said Osterwalder. “We want to help Latin art spread through the city of Columbus because we have tremendous art that is out there that is not known.”

The seven artists represent Argentina, Columbia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico and the United States.

Diálogos will be on display at the conservatory through November.
