CINCINNATI — The Evanston neighborhood in Cincinnati will host a peace walk Wednesday night against gun violence occurring in the community.

The Evanston Peace Walk for a Gun-Free Community begins at 6 p.m. at the Blair Market. Marchers will walk on Woodburn Avenue before turning onto Dana Avenue. From there, they will turn again onto Montgomery Road and finish back at Blair Market.

The march is taking place “in a show of solidarity against the gun violence that is gripping the community,” according to the neighborhood council’s Facebook page.

Masks are encouraged for participants.

The event comes after a shooting Sunday outside Mr. Pitiful’s bar in the Over-the-Rhine district left one woman and eight men wounded. City authorities have issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

There have been 157 shooting incidents in Cincinnati this year, according to city data
