CLEVELAND — To get people vaccinated against COVID-19, a church in Cleveland’s Slavic Village is hosting “Dollars for Doses,” where participants can get paid to be vaccinated.
Elizabeth Baptist Church, at 6114 Francis Avenue, is hosting a clinic on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
People who show up at the clinic for their first COVID-19 vaccine will receive $100 cash; $50 for their second dose; and $25 for their booster. Individuals will receive $25 for every friend they bring to the clinic for vaccinations.
The event is part of an ongoing effort by Greater Cleveland Congregations and the Centers for Families and Children to raise vaccination participation rates on Cleveland’s East Side. Janssen (J&J), Moderna and Pfizer vaccines and boosters are available to those five years and older.
According to the GCC website, there are two more “Dollars for Doses” opportunities, which are scheduled to be held in September.
