DAYTON, Ohio — Sept. 15 marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. To celebrate, several events are planned across the Buckeye State including an annual Dayton festival.

The 21st Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival is set for Saturday, September 17 at Riverscape Metropark.

Festival organizers said a variety of entertainment will be available whether people come to share their Hispanic cultural heritage, learn about other countries, support a good cause or enjoy the music and food.

Activities include live music, children’s activities, cultural displays, and more.

“It’s a very important event for the Hispanic community to be able to showcase the beauty of our culture through our food, our music, and dance,” said event organizer Karla Knox. “We also showcase what we like to call the Latino Hall of Fame where we put up information on notable Hispanics and their contributions to American culture.”

The Hispanic Heritage Festival takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
