CLEVELAND — Marc Gatzulis roots for the Browns, and his wife Lynne is a lifelong Steelers fan.

So they often are mixing brown, orange, black and yellow merch around the house on game day.

What You Need To Know

  • There are both Browns and Steelers fans in the Cleveland area
  •  Marc Gatzulis roots for the Browns, and his wife Lynne Gatzulis is a life-long Steelers fan
  • Spectrum News met a house divided with neighbors that are also divided on their teams

“I probably love this the most,” Marc Gatzulis said. “Because when the kids were very little, we had to switch hats. They’d be Browns for the first half and Steelers for the second half is the only way we could come to terms with it.”

It’s an even split. Half of their kids are Steelers fans, the other half are Browns fans. Spectrum News asked the kids why.

Their daughter Isabelle said she roots for the Steelers because her mom likes them, and their daughter Emma said she feels like she was influenced into it.

“He’s mine,” Marc Gatzulis said about the dog. “He’s the Browns.”

Lynne Gatzulis said she grew up a Steelers fan and said dating a Browns fan was a dealbreaker. But Marc was an exception.

“I’m a die-hard Pittsburgh fan you’re not gonna change me, don’t even meet me,” she said were some of the first words shared with Marc Gatzulis when they met.

“Well, we went out and here we are twelve years later still married,” she said.

They found out they aren’t the only house divided on the block. Right across the street, their neighbors are also split between the two teams. They’ll often watch games together out back.

“We don’t always have to be rooting for the same team to have a good time,” Lynne Gatzulis said.
