HOUSTON — Houston police responded to a deadly shooting early Tuesday morning at a private party at a bowling alley. Atlanta rapper Takeoff, of the group Migos, was shot and killed.

Police responded shortly after 2:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling, where dozens of people had gathered on a balcony outside of the bowling alley, which is on the third floor, police said.

According to Houston NBC affiliate KPRC, police confirmed that Migos members Quavo and Takeoff were present at the time of the shooting. Police also confirmed that the victim was a Black male in his 20s who suffered gunshot wound to his head or neck. The man was pronounced dead on scene.

Around 40 to 50 people were present at the time of the shooting, according to Houston police. Security guards who were in the area heard the shooting but did not see who did it, a police spokesperson said.

Two other victims were taken to hospitals in private vehicles. Houston police will not be releasing the identity of the victim until his family has been notified and ID verified by Harris County Institute of Forensic Scientists.
