COVINGTON, Ky. — Kentuckians have been able to hit the polls early in several communities this week, including Kenton County. Inside the Northern Kentucky Convention Center Saturday was Beth Roberts, who said she likes taking advantage of Early Voting.
“It’s easier to fit it into my schedule,” Roberts said.
Roberts was among others voting in Kenton County early. People could grab a pre-printed ballot to fill out or fill out a ballot with the ExpressVote Ballot Marker machine. She said the experience was pretty smooth sailing.
“People are here and ready to walk you through what you need to do and it’s fairly straightforward,” she said.
One of those people available to help is Chip Pritchard, who said he’s a troubleshooter. “My job is just to make sure that everybody has the ability to do their jobs, whether it’s judge, sheriff, clerk and help people get to vote correctly,” Pritchard said. He said it’s a steady stream of people taking advantage of early voting.
“People want their vote heard,” he said.
The Kentucky Secretary of State reported over 170,000 Kentuckians voted Thursday and Friday.
“I imagine Tuesday’s going to be like a Presidential Election,” Pritchard said. Roberts said she did her research before filling out such a hefty ballot and encourages people to do so before hitting the polls on Election Day Tuesday.
“So you know who to vote for! Don’t just vote for random people,” she said.
The clerk’s office said polls open at 6 a.m. Election Day and are open until 6 p.m.
