Ohio State Highway Patrol: 16 deaths occurred on roadways this Thanksgiving

OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol released its Thanksgiving Holiday Report for 2022 on Monday, which was taken during a five-day reporting period from Wednesday, Nov. 23 at midnight through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27.

The statistics showed 16 people died in 15 fatal crashes on the state’s highways and two of them were pedestrians. Ten of them weren’t wearing seatbelts and six of the crashes involved impaired driving. 

Troopers also arrested 270 people for being impaired while operating a vehicle. They also issued citations for 686 safety belt and 100 distracted driving violations. 

More than 1,500 motorists also received helped from troopers.
