Bengals help Freestore Foodbank with holiday food distribution

CINCINNATI – In a packed parking lot outside of Paycor headquarters, roughly two dozen Bengals players, staff and coaches spent the afternoon giving out thousands of pounds of food to families in need.

A partnership between the Bengals, Campbell’s Chunky and the Freestore Foodbank provided holiday meals to roughly 2,000 families from across the region.

Donations included thousands of pounds of produce and canned goods as well as a turkey or ham for every family that came through the mobile distribution.

Among the players who came to help out was Sam Hubbard, a defensive end for the Bengals, a Cincinnati-native. and the team’s 2022 nominee for Walter Payton Man of the Year. 

For Hubbard, the opportunity to give back is about showing the city the team cares both on and off the field.

“There’s a little bit more pride playing for my hometown and when you take that to the impact you leave on your communit. Here I feel like it’s an even bigger deal to me,” he said.

In addition to the food distributed Tuesday, Campbell’s Chunky also donated 100,000 meals to Freestore Foodbank to help meet other community needs for the holiday season.
