CLEVELAND — The Ashbury Senior Computer Community Center (ASC³) held its annual gala on Saturday night in downtown Cleveland. Leaders of the nonprofit organization celebrated the commitment of Charter Communications to expand digital literacy in the region.
“They have proven that they are giving back to the small neighborhoods, like Glenville — like mine,” said Wanda Davis, ASC³ founder and executive director.
Charter’s Vice President of Community Impact Rahman Khan recieved an award for his exemplary efforts to improve technology access for local residents.
“You know, it’s really humbling to get an honor from this organization,” said Khan. “We do the work because it’s important. We do the work because we feel it’s making a difference in the local community. We do the work because we want to improve local communities.”
The center has been in existence for 20 years. Earlier this year, ASC³ was selected as a Spectrum Digital Education grant recipient for the continuation of the center’s Digital Aviator Program.
