Multiple Ohio college football teams to compete in postseason bowls

OHIO — Six teams from Ohio accepted invitations to play in the college football bowl season.

An Ohio team kicks off the bowl season beginning Dec. 16, when Miami (Ohio) plays UAB in the Bahamas Bowl. The Buckeye State will once again be represented in the College Footbal playoff when Ohio State University plays Georgia in the semifinals in the Peach Bowl.

Miami (Ohio) vs. UAB
Date: Friday,  Dec. 16
Time: 11:30 a.m. EST
Location: Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, Bahamas
Broadcast network: ESPN

What to know: Miami of the Mid-American Conference and UAB of Conference USA both enter the game with 6-6 overall records and 4-4 records in their respective conferences. Miami finished fourth in the MAC East standings. Both teams needed to win their regular season finales to qualify for bowl eligibility.

Cincinnati vs. Louisville
Date: Saturday, Dec. 17
Time: 11 a.m. EST
Location: Fenway Park, Boston
Broadcast network: ESPN

What to know: Cincinnati finished third in the American Athletic Conference with a 9-3 overall record and a 6-2 conference record. Louisville finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference Atlantic Division with a 7-5 overall record and a 4-4 conference record.

Toledo vs. Liberty
Date: Tuesday, Dec. 20
Time: 7:30 p.m. EST
Location: FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida
Broadcast network: ESPN

What to know: Toledo enters the bowl season after winning the Mid-American Conference Championship. The Rockets have an 8-5 overall record and a 5-3 conference record competing in the MAC West. Liberty competes as an independent and finished the regular season with an 8-4 record, including ending the season on a three-game losing streak.

Bowling Green vs. New Mexico State
Date: Monday, Dec. 26
Time: 2:30 p.m. EST
Location: Ford Field, Detroit
Broadcast network: ESPN

What to know: Bowling Green finished third in the Mid-American Conference East Division with a 6-6 overall record and a 5-3 conference record and was in the running for the MAC East title until the last week of the regular season. New Mexico State finished its season, which it competes in as an independent, with a 6-6 record. The Aggies ended their regular season on a two-game winning streak.

Ohio vs. Wyoming
Date: Friday, Dec. 30
Time: 4:30 p.m. EST
Location: Arizona Stadium, Tucson
Broadcast network: Barstool

What to know: Ohio won the Mid-American Conference East Division on the last week of the regular season to make the MAC Championship, which the Bobcats lost to Toledo to finish with a 9-4 overall record. The Bobcats finished with a 7-1 conference record. Wyoming finished second in the Mountain West Conference Mountain Division with a 7-5 overall record and a 5-3 conference record.

No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 4 Ohio State
Date: Saturday, Dec. 31
Time: 8 p.m. EST
Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Broadcast network: ESPN

What to know: Ohio State finished second in the Big 10 Conference East Division with a loss to No. 2 Michigan in the final week of the regular season. The Buckeyes finished with an 11-1 overall record and an 8-1 conference record. Georgia comes into the game with an undefeated 13-0 overall record and an 8-0 record in the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs defeated LSU to win the SEC Championship title. Both Ohio State and Georgia have quarterbacks who were finalists for the Heisman Memorial Trophy.
