3 tornadoes confirmed so far from Mondays storms

The National Weather Service has confirmed that Monday’s storms produced at least three tornadoes. Those same storms also caused wind damage and hail.

  • At least one tornado occurred near Orient in Pickaway County
  • Officials confirmed another near Middletown in Butler County
  • The third was confirmed near New Carlisle in Clark County

The National Weather Service office in Wilmington determined that the damage near Orient in Pickaway County came from a tornado. That survey team continues to investigate and will have more information later today.

NWS Wilmington also confirmed another tornado hit northwest of Middletown in Butler County. The third was confirmed near New Carlisle in Clark County.

In total, three crews are surveying damage.

The thunderstorms Monday afternoon also had strong straight-line winds that damaged trees and power lines. Most of those reports were in western Ohio.

Large hail also fell in parts of Ohio. Some were larger than 2 inches in diameter, even getting as large as baseballs.
