The National Weather Service has confirmed that Monday’s storms produced at least three tornadoes. Those same storms also caused wind damage and hail.
The National Weather Service office in Wilmington rated the tornado in Clark County north of New Carlisle as an EF-1. It had peak winds of 90 to 95 mph and was on the ground from 3:19 p.m. to 3:21 p.m. It traveled 2.3 miles in that time. That tornado damaged trees, homes and a barn. Read the full report here.

NWS Wilmington also determined that the damage near Orient in Pickaway County and northwest of Middletown in Butler County also came from tornadoes.
As for the tornado near Orient, NWS rated that one an EF-0. The tornado near Middletown has been rated an EF-1.
The thunderstorms Monday afternoon also had strong straight-line winds that damaged trees and power lines. Most of those reports were in western Ohio.
Large hail also fell in parts of Ohio. Some were larger than 2 inches in diameter, even getting as large as baseballs.
