DAYTON, Ohio — Cold weather and long lines didn’t stop the Dayton community from coming out to pick up their Mikesell’s potato chips.
There is no denying that Dayton loves their chips.
People waited in line in their cars for hours to take home one last box from the Leo Street factory.
The chips cost $20 a box, but for people waiting in the line that wrapped around the block, there is no price tag too big when it comes to taking home a yummy piece of Dayton history.
Last month, Conn’s Potato Chips announced they purchased the company.
Production is already underway at the plant in Zanesville.
“I love them, but now I’m like invested into it, so I have to follow through. My whole family loves them. We all grew up and I’m a native Daytonian. I love them,” said Virginia Platt as she waited in line.
If you couldn’t make it out Thursday, according to the Mikesell’s Facebook page, since rain is expected Friday, the second sale has been postponed until Monday.
The boxes cost $20 and they are accepting cash only while supplies last.
Hours run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
