MARENGO, Ohio — Groovy Plants Ranch is not your usual garden center, but “an oasis of beautiful oddities.”
Run by husband and wife duo Jared and Liz Hughes, the plant destination offers one of the most varied collections in the state.
“It’s been a whirlwind since 2015 of growing and excitement,” said Liz Hughs. “We’re meeting new people, and we are bigger than we ever imagined 8 years in.”
Liz and Jared welcome people from all over the country to browse a selection of house plants, succulents, herbs, veggies and more.
“We just like to dive deep and have a little bit of something for everyone,” said Liz Hughs. “New gardeners or seasoned collectors can all find something here at Groovy Plants Ranch.”
There is plenty of opportunity to get your hands dirty, with potting stations throughout the ranch. Visitors can also shop around inside the Historic Pagetown Schoolhouse for exclusive groovy gear.
“We pride ourselves on having helpful and knowledgeable staff, so when you come and shop here you don’t have to know anything, but you can ask lots of questions,” said Liz Hughs.
The Groovy Plants Ranch team has more than 100 years of horticulture experience. Liz and Jared also run a blog for those looking to learn more about gardening and host on-site events at the ranch, including yoga and special potting classes.
