AKRON, Ohio — The 65th Classic, Antique & Collector Car Show will once again grace the grounds of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in time for Father’s Day.
Presented in partnership with the Ohio Region Classic Car Club of America, the car show is set for Sunday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The parade of cars entering the grounds takes place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., organizers said in a release. Stan Hywet is located at 714 N. Portage Path in West Akron.
This year’s show features 400 collector vehicles manufactured from 1915 through 1998, as well as motorcycles from 1985 and earlier. New this year is a display of antique boats near the estate’s front gate, organizers said.
Air-cooled automobiles, in which the engines are cooled with air instead of coolant fluid, are the featured class this year.
The Syracuse, New York-based Franklin Automobile Co. was the first automaker to offer an air-cooled engine in 1902, building the luxury vehicles until the final Franklin rolled off the line in 1934 when the company became a casualty of the Great Depression, according to the Detroit Bureau.
The Father’s Day show will display three Franklins — 1905, 1928 and 1931 — along with a Hans Glas GmbH Goggomobil and an Italian Isetta, show organizers said.
Corvairs, Volkswagen Beetles and Volkswagen vans, and Porsches also will be displayed in this class.

Live music by classic-rock band My Drunk Uncle will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Courtyard. Food will be available from the Winking Lizard, River Dog, Molly’s Café, Holcomb’s Nuts and Kona-Ice.
For kids, Stan Hywet’s Homes of Nature, a large-scale interactive installation, encourages walking, crawling and climbing at Critters’ Corner, Bird’s Nest, Bee Hive and Bird House.
Playgarden offers a splash fountain, a kid-powered antique Model A truck, an archaeological dig and a Tudor-revival playhouse.
Tickets to the car show are presale only and available on the Stan Hywet website. Attendees are encouraged to secure tickets early, as last year’s event sold out, organizers said.
Self-guided tours of the Manor House and historic gardens are included in the ticket price.
Parking is off-site only. Free shuttle service will run from the Firestone and Litchfield Community Learning Center campus, 470 Castle Blvd. and Todaro’s Party Center, 1820 Akron-Peninsula Rd.
