Look for dramatic changes in the forecast as we usher in 2022. What starts off as a rainy and very mild weekend, will turn into a colder, snowier Sunday.

By Saturday morning, rain will become heavier and steadier across southern and central Ohio, moving north throughout the day. The increasing south and southwesterly winds will also bring in a chance of storms, as warmer air transports into Ohio. The early- to mid-afternoon could bring lightning, thunder, winds and even the slight chance of a tornado for extreme southern Ohio, especially along the river.

Saturday night, a cold front pushes east, changing the rain to snow for the northern and western areas first. Light, wet accumulation is expected by Sunday morning, with 1-3″ possible by Sunday night across northwest Ohio. Highs Sunday will only reach the low and middle 30s statewide.
