The fall preview was nice late last week but you knew it wasn’t meant to last.

What You Need To Know

  • A hot start to the week with highs in the 80s and 90s
  • Showers and storms move in for the middle of the week
  • A warm but drier Friday and next weekend

Overnight lows dipped into the 40s in a few spots last week; a taste of the upcoming season that was very short-lived. Now we approach a new week with high pressure situated to our south, sending up gusty SW winds. Those breezes, along with a front to the north, continue to push our highs well above average.

In fact, many areas could be looking at highs in the low 90s, with heat index values approaching 95 degrees.

That’s for Monday and Tuesday; by Wednesday, we’re anticipating a strong cold front pushing south. As that moves in, expect rain and storms to develop, with a drop in temperatures as well.

We should start to dry out by the end of the week, with highs remaining average or slightly above into next weekend.
