OHIO — A new poll released Thursday shows Tim Ryan and JD Vance remain a statistical tie in the Ohio Senate race less than two weeks before Election Day.

The poll from Baldwin Wallace University Community Research Institute shows Tim Ryan has four-point lead, 50-46, which is within the poll’s margin of error.

It is one point larger though than the lead he had in Baldwin Wallace’s initial poll last month.

Ryan’s biggest advantage is among women, with 52% of them saying they’ll vote for the Democratic candidate in the race.

In the end, the race likely comes down to how many cast their ballot.

“In terms of the turnout, that’s going to be the key,” said Tom Sutton, director of the Community Research Institute. “Whether that turnout favors Ryan or favors Vance, certainly based on all of the other statewide races, it should favor Vance because those are all showing heavily trending toward Republican incumbents. Whereas, I think the abortion issue is causing an uptick in turnout among Democrats, particularly women, and independents that are favoring Ryan.”

Meanwhile, Baldwin Wallace’s poll shows Gov. Mike DeWine holds a commanding 16-point lead over Democrat Nan Whaley.
