Bitterly cold and windy with travel concerns into Christmas day

Very cold and windy weather will continue through Christmas Day across the state. Temperatures start in the single digits and rise into the teens for Sunday. Wind chills stay below zero for much of the day.

Lake-effect snow of 2-4″ is possible through Monday morning from near Cleveland to Ashtabula. Elsewhere, a few flurries are possible. Blowing and drifting snow, as well as snow-covered and icy roadways, will lead to tricky travel conditions at times.

By Monday, holiday travelers may encounter another batch of snow. An Alberta Clipper will pass through the state and bring the potential for accumulations.
