PENINSULA, Ohio — The Boston Mills Ski Resort announced it’s opening for the season on Saturday for skiing, and said its prepared despite the upcoming storm.

The hours are as follows for the upcoming days:

  • Dec. 24: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Lift 2, Lift 3 and the conveyor running, giving guests access to Summit and Buttermilk
  • Dec. 25: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Dec: 26: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Dec. 26, there will also be an “official” season kick-off party.

“Recent winds and higher temps worked against us, impacting our ability to make snow this week,” the resort wrote in a Facebook post. “However, things are looking up (after the rain tomorrow) and we’re prepared for the Saturday open, with plans to expand to more terrain pretty quickly afterwards.”

The post also said it expects Brandywine Ski Resort, its sister park, to also open early next week. But as for Polar Blast tubing at Brandywine, that may take a bit longer to launch.

“Tubing lanes require a significant amount of snow, which is why tubing opens after the ski and snowboard terrain. We are working as quickly as we can to open up the tubing park in the coming weeks,” the post said.
