Joe Thomas and Darrel “Pete” Brewster, who died in Jan. 2020 at 89, will be inducted into the Browns’ Legends program during a ceremony at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Thomas, 37, retired after the 2017 season after spending his entire 11-year career with the Browns. A dominating left tackle, Thomas was named to the Pro Bowl 10 times and was a first-team All-Pro six times.

“It feels amazing,” Thomas said, per the team’s website. “The pride that I have as a former Cleveland Brown and Browns alumni is unlimited, and now being able to be in the most exclusive club among Browns alumni is incredibly special to me.”

Despite the play of Thomas, the Browns went 48-128 during his career.

Brewster played for the Browns from 1952-58 after the team made him a second-round draft pick.

The Browns won two championships with Brewster, who played at both defensive end and tight end and was twice a Pro Bowl selection. He spent his final two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Our family is ecstatic that our father has been chosen to receive the incredible honor of being inducted into the Cleveland Browns Legends,” said Brewster’s daughter, Debbie Wildeisen.

The Browns have added two former players to the Legends program each year since 2010, excluding 2019, when none were added.

“We always appreciate the opportunity to celebrate our alumni at the start of the season and throughout the year,” said team owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam in a statement. “Darrell ‘Pete’ Brewster and Joe Thomas are incredibly deserving of becoming Browns Legends, and we commend them for their commitment to the team on the field and community off of it.”
