It seems we are in a pattern of getting a bigger storm on Thursdays then drying and cooling for the weekend. This is the setup for the last weekend in February.

What You Need To Know

  • Saturday looks like the sunniest weekend day
  • Highs will be on the cool side both weekend days
  • Some lake-effect snow showers are possible late Sunday into early Monday

After another bigger system on Thursday with rain, snow and ice, Friday will be mainly dry but cooler.

If you have Friday night travel plans, roads should be in better shape but lows on Friday night will get very chilly in the teens and lower 20s.

Some of our wind chills are going to be below zero early Saturday.

This means we could see re-freeze and icy spots into early Saturday even though skies will be dry.

Look for plenty of sunshine on Saturday as the weather stays quiet with highs in the upper 20s to lower 40s.

Average highs for this time of year are in the lower to middle 40s.

Sunday will not be as cool with highs in the lower 30s north to middle 40s south.

Some lake-effect snow showers are possible late Sunday into Monday.

But these should be mainly confined to the snowbelt.
