CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Clinic recently launched the “Cleveland Clinic Connected” program in order to enhance patient care across the world and respond to the increased global demand for quality health care.

The program provides members with access to Cleveland Clinic’s leading clinical and operational experts, educational and professional development programs and more.

Members of the program will maintain complete ownership and management of their local facilities.

All care at member facilities will be provided by the local care teams. Cleveland Clinic Connected is simply an opportunity to collaborate and consult with Cleveland Clinic experts.

“Cleveland Clinic Connected will allow us to share our expertise in quality, safety and patient experience to reach more people across the globe,” said Dr. Tom Mihaljevic, CEO and president of Cleveland Clinic. “We have a responsibility to bring the best care to patients — regardless of where they live — because everyone deserves high quality health care. By working with hospitals and health systems aligned with our mission, we can take steps to honor that commitment.”

Physicians at member institutions can request secondary assessments of complex cases through physician-to-physician consultations with any of Cleveland Clinic’s 6,000 experts.

Members also have access to marketing support and co-branding materials.

“Cleveland Clinic Connected was designed to improve health care delivery around the world by sharing time-tested best practices and knowledge, especially around quality, safety and patient experience,” Dr. James Merlino, Cleveland Clinic’s chief clinical transformation officer, said. “Through this program, local and international hospitals will have access to Cleveland Clinic experts, including complex patient care clinical support and advice on operational aspects such as supply chain, IT and finance.”
