Cleveland Public Library to host COVID-19 vaccination clinics

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Public Library will host COVID-19 vaccination clinics at select neighborhood branches in partnership with Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (NEON).

Clevelanders who get the shot may win bus passes, gift cards and other prizes. Managed Plan Medicaid members ages 18 years and older receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will get a $100 gift card.

Vaccination location, dates and times are:

  • Rockport Branch – Monday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to Noon
  • Glenville Branch – Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 1-2 p.m.
  • Memorial-Nottingham Branch – Friday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to Noon
  • Rice Branch – Monday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to Noon
  • Harvard-Lee Branch – Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 1-3 p.m.

Insurance is not a requirement for those seeking the vaccine as the vaccination clinics are free and open to residents ages 18 and older.

Registration is preferred by calling (216) 231-7700 and selecting option 2 to make an appointment. Callers are asked to know which date and vaccination location they would like to attend.

Registrants should bring their photo ID and insurance information if available to their vaccination appointment. People should also wear short sleeves to their appointment.

Family Fun Day

Prizes, games and more await Clevelanders at a family fun day at the Walz Branch of Cleveland Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 2-5 p.m. In partnership with Northwest Neighborhoods and the Neighborhood Family Practice, the Walz Branch will provide free COVID-19 vaccinations for the Detroit Shoreway and Cudell communities.

Residents 12 years and older are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination. Those who receive a shot will be entered into a drawing to win $100. Managed Plan Medicaid members 18 years and older will receive a $100 gift card for their first vaccine dose. The Ohio Mobile Gaming Bus will also be on site. For more information on the Walz Branch event, call (216) 623-7095.

“Vaccination is the best prevention against COVID-19. Our efforts will ensure that everyone has access to the vaccine and is informed about the virus,” said Harriette Parks, director of Public Services at Cleveland Public Library.

Abbott BinaxNOW rapid, at-home, COVID-19 test kits are now available at the Main Library drive-up window for anyone wanting a COVID-19 test. The at-home tests are made possible through the library’s partnership with the Ohio Department of Health.
