COLUMBUS, Ohio — The dance floor is where Laura Lambert is the happiest.

She is rehearsing a number she’s done many times with her friend, Cynthia Chriss-Knochel, but unlike most dancers, Lambert is not the kind to do it for the money, fame or glamour. She’s in it to give back.
“Once you get that feeling, it’s beyond words,” Lambert said.
Lambert has been dancing with the Columbus Entertainment Productions 4 Charity for around 10 years. The Columbus Entertainment Productions 4 Charity is a theatre group that raises money for many good causes, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
But when she’s not on stage, Laura lives a quiet life in the suburbs of Columbus, away from the hustle and bustle of show business.
Back at home, she’s a real estate agent who very much appreciates the simple things in life: coffee, her dogs and her neighbor, who she often calls Cowboy. Given how many horses he cares for, it’s not totally off-base.
These days Lambert likes to spend her time outside to get away from the busy aspects of life ever since she picked up dancing again.
“I’m back into musical theatre on a little bit more of a heavier basis than I have in the past 30, 40 years, but no complaints here, ” said Lambert. “I’m loving it.”
Dancing has always been a part of who she is, but ever since she’s been in the Columbus Entertainment Productions 4 Charity, something else is pushing her.
That’s giving back.
It has let her dance and raise money for charities at the same time. That’s why she has no plans of putting her dance shoes away any time soon.
