A southwest Ohio community worked to help a teen with the illness.

Help, Hope, Live hosted a concert as a fundraiser at Ivy Hills Country Club on April 2.

Live music and a silent auction were some of the activities available to raise money for the organization to support Logan Boone.

Boone, 19, was born with Batten Disease, which causes him to have speech and cognitive issues, and seizures and vision problems. Boone is a 2021 Batavia High School graduate.

The money raised from the event will help Boone’s grandparents cover the out-of-pocket expenses for his care as his illness progresses.

“This event is important because we are working to help Logan to be able to stay in his home through his end of life care,” said Jessica Ellis- Alvarez, Logan’s aunt.

Organizers hope to raise $20,000. More information may be found online.
