CLEARCREEK, Ohio (AP) — A Clearcreek Police Officer who responded to a domestic violence call at a southwestern Ohio home Tuesday night, was shot and critically wounded by a man who was then shot and killed by another officer, authorities said.

Officials said Officer Eric Ney, a 14-year veteran of the force, remains in critical but stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital, according to a release from the Clearcreek Police Department. 

Police were called to the home because a man was reportedly ramming his wife’s car with an ATV, authorities said. Officials said the man soon shot one officer in the head, but further details on what sparked the shooting were not disclosed.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

The department will have a joint press conference with Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell at the Clearcreek Township Government Center at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Audio and footage will be shared at the conference. 

Both the name of the officer who shot the man, and the man who was killed have not been released.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting.
