A heat dome in the center of the country will continue to bring dangerous heat throughout the week.
Many heat alerts are in effect for the center of the country, with temperatures already reaching 10 to 20 degrees above the average for most over the past couple of days.

Temperatures peak for the Midwest on Wednesday and Thursday, with highs reaching the upper 90s and lower 100s.
On Friday and Saturday, the Southeast will feel the heat.
Humidity will make it feel even hotter outside. Areas in the Midwest and Plains could see heat indices up to 115.
The Southeast will feel closer to 110.
In these dangerous temperatures, heat illnesses can settle in quickly, so make sure you stay indoors as much as possible and stay hydrated.
