Subtropical Storm Don formed in the Atlantic Friday morning, becoming the fourth named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season.
Centered less than 1200 miles west of the Azores, Don remains a subtropical storm, producing maximum sustained wind speeds up to 40 mph.
The storm is continues to move northward, but will turn east later on Sunday before curving southward on Monday and Tuesday. While slight weakening can’t be ruled out, Don is expected to more or less maintain its strength as it loops over the central Atlantic over the next several days.
It could become a post-tropical cyclone or remnant during that time, too.
Regardless of its fate, Don will affect the U.S.
