LOVELAND, Ohio — Getting back into the workforce may be a challenge when someone doesn’t have the necessary resources, which is why two southwest Ohio organizations teamed up to provide the tools for success.

  • Dress for Success is an organization that offers services to get people re-acclimated into the workforce
  • The Care Center is a social services organization that offers employment services, personal care and transportation services
  • This is Dress for Success’s second location in the Cincinnati area

Marriette Wade was first introduced to Dress for Success through the EmpowerHer workshop. It’s all about women building their network and sense of community.

She said it was helpful because of the disconnect during the pandemic.

“These women — they come together, they’re empowered, they’re inspired, they’re hearing other people’s stories and they’re also getting connected to resources that they need,” said Wade.

Wade is the development and community relations director of Abilities First, an organization that provides resources to children of varying disabilities. She refers her clients to Dress for Success, because it offers resume building, job training and more to help women get re-acclimated into the workforce.

“One of the best things about Dress for Success is the fact that you come into an environment where you are not judged by your background,” Wade said.

Dress for Success even has a free boutique full of lightly-worn clothing for people to pick from.

“When you have on a nice pair of clothes, you feel so much better,” she said. “But it’s even more than that. It’s rebuilding yourself esteem and helping you realign your focus for your life.”

On Wednesday, Wade was one of dozens of people who celebrated the grand opening of the Dress of Success and Care Center location in Loveland.

It’s the second location for Dress for Success in the Cincinnati area. It is partnering with the Care Center, a social service organization that provides various resources like personal care, employment services and transportation.

“I think that Dress for Success is like a hidden gem and everyone needs to know about the wonderful people that work here and how they give women the chance to live the life they always wanted,” she said.
