CINCINNATI — There’s now a different option for busy parents on the go. “Pay as you go” childcare is opening up in more places, with the latest drop-in center recently opening its doors in West Cincinnati.

What You Need To Know

  • ‘Play4hours’ recently opened to busy parents and runs on a ‘pay as you go’ model
  • For up to four hours at a time, you can drop off your kids and pay for the hours you use
  • Mom and business owner Andi Eubank started the center after seeing few options for her own kids

Andi Eubank is a mother of three and runs two businesses. She said one of them is designed to help parents like her.

“My children’s father and I, we had different schedules so we just needed two to three hours of care to make our schedules work,” said Eubank.

She opened a daycare, Play4Hours on Cincinnati’s west side. It’s an area she said lacks in drop-in childcare.

“I knew that we needed it and that other people would probably utilize it too, so I thought we’d open it here for the community,” said Eubank.

New mom Kaeleigh Norvet knows that need firsthand.

“Most of the childcare centers in this area are full time and childcare is really expensive. I know for my 8-month-old, they wanted to charge us $320 a week for childcare,” said Norvet.

That’s why Norvet teamed up with the owner and became the director.

“When you come here, you’re only paying when you’re here. A lot of these traditional childcare centers you have to pay for the week, regardless of if you come two days, three days, or the full week,” said Norvet.

It’s the reason parents like Amanda Rogers started bringing her kids

“If I just randomly have a doctor’s appointment or have to go to the grocery store, it’s nice to drop them off at my convenience and know that they’re well taken care of,” said Rogers.

In the future, the owner said they’re hoping to expand, add more night time and weekend hours, summer camps, and after-school programs for kids.
