EUCLID, Ohio — After a lengthy negotiation process that led to threats of a strike, the Euclid Teachers Association has voted to approve a contract.

The Euclid Board of Education and the teachers’ union reached an agreement last week after the Euclid Teachers Association issued a 10-day strike notice. Teachers Association spokesperson Josh Stephens told Spectrum News that more information on the details of the agreement will be released soon.

Teachers Association representatives said that the union opposes giving the district power to reassign teachers at any point in the school year to any classroom. Other issues include wage increases and insurance contributions.

The district says the school board will ratify the contract in a timely manner. It is expected to become the contract for the next three years.
