A single-engine plane traveling from John F. Kennedy International Airport to an airport in Ohio crashed Thursday evening, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The plane crashed after the pilot reported engine issues “approximately one mile from Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y.” around 6:15 p.m., the FAA said in a statement.

The FAA could not say how many people were on board or their conditions as of 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

The plane’s destination was Cuyahoga County Airport in Richmond Heights, Ohio.
