DELAWARE, Ohio — It was an exciting day for supporters of former President Donald Trump in central Ohio. Supporters traveled from all over the state to see him at the Delaware County Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Supporters packed the fairgrounds, forming long lines.

“It’s close to where I live and I couldn’t pass it up because we’re so close and because I always wanted to see him,” said Mansfield resident Lori Keiser.

This is her first time attending one of his rallies. She’s been a supporter for years and couldn’t wait for the moment to finally see him in person.

“That surpassed my expectations — all the people here,” she said. “It’s like we’ve known each other for forever and everyone is just one big happy family.”

The visit comes just days after the former president endorsed Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance. The trip also comes less than two weeks ahead of the Ohio primary election. Trump has made it clear that he plans to run again in 2024, and Keiser said she hopes he will.

“Drop the mandate on the mask, the vaccine, gas prices, grocery prices,” she said. “People should have that choice. It should not be forced on people.”

Mark Johnson, of Chardon, added, “He’s got to make changes and he’s got to mention the border and he’s got to mention the cost of living here. It’s ridiculous.”
