DAYTON, Ohio — Brad Cubbie, who has two grade-school daughters who like pretty things and makeup, said he knew it would happen eventually.
“When they first did it, I didn’t think about it, I just said yeah. I thought it would be fun,” Cubbie said.
That’s why he said he bought his daughters, 6-year-old Braleigh, and 10-year-old Khloe makeup for Christmas.
“Next time we do his makeup, I’m gonna make him look like Belle or the beast,” Khloe said.
The aspiring make-up artists wanted to use their dad as their first client.
“This is like going to the park and playing basketball with your son or lifting weights or stuff like that, so however, I can bond with them is cool with me,” Cubbie said.
But what he didn’t know was that when they were finished, he’d go viral.
He posted his ‘after’ photo to Twitter and the post was retweeted, shared, and liked thousands of times and still counting.
“I was ready for just a little laughs and jokes with my friends, but it just went crazy,” Cubbie said.
One by one, the Dayton dad sparked a whole string of dads with daughters or “girl dads” across the country to post their own hilarious pictures after their daughters put makeup on them.
Cubbie’s girls said they’re not done yet.
They said they’ve been inspired to do this for a living when they get older.
“I watch a lot of makeup videos, and they really inspire me to do makeup,” Khloe said.
Their girl dad said he hopes their newfound viral fame helps them get there.
“I’m excited to see the growth, I wanna see in a couple years how they get, so I’ll keep being their canvas,” Cubbie said.
