Heavy snow and some ice to impact parts of Ohio late Sunday

After clear skies and quiet conditions overnight Saturday into Sunday, we’re anticipating a major winter storm to impact central and eastern Ohio come Sunday night into early Monday.

We start Sunday dry, with increasing clouds by midday, then snow chances beginning in southern Ohio by late day. In addition to snow, parts of eastern Ohio will also see sleet and freezing rain, so icing will be a concern, especially Sunday night.

The snow becomes heavier and steadier overnight into Monday, with some areas seeing as much as a foot of snow (this would be for extreme NE areas closer to PA)

Several inches of snow seems likely for central Ohio, including Columbus.

Further west, Cincinnati may see 1-2″, while Dayton should get away with a dusting to perhaps an inch.
