High heat and humidity make things very uncomfortable again today.

What You Need To Know

  • Highs on Wednesday will be in the middle to upper 90s
  • A few spots will be near 100 degrees
  • Practice heat safety with this excessive heat
  • Thursday will still be hot, but temperatures will start trending down

Near-record, if not record-breaking, temperatures are back in today’s forecast with highs in the mid and even upper 90s.

Records for Wednesday are 96 degrees in Columbus and Dayton, 96 degrees in Cincinnati and 97 degrees in Cleveland.

We have heat-related alerts for most of the state through this afternoon and evening.

Heat index values this afternoon will likely be higher than 105 degrees in many spots.

Dew points will continue to be unusually high, resulting in triple digit heat indices from around noon until 8 p.m. for parts of Ohio.

These muggy conditions make it very hard for people and pets to cool down.

Practice heat safety like never leaving kids or pets in the car, try to do outdoor activities either early in the morning or later in the evening and drink plenty of water.
