As Russia’s invasion continues, Russian forces push their advance on Ukrainian cities despite significant resistance from the people of Ukraine.

The U.N. human rights office says it has documented 726 civilian deaths in Ukraine so far, including 52 children, but they believe the actual number is “much higher.”

Overall death tolls in the conflict are unclear, with both Russia and Ukraine claiming different figures that cannot be independently verified.

In an powerful speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an emotional plea to U.S. lawmakers for more aid to defend Ukraine. Shortly after, President Joe Biden responded with an additional $800 million in new security assistance for Ukraine, one day after signing a spending bill into law which provides $13.6 billion in aid.
