Man arrested in connection to deadly shooting outside Columbus library

COLUMBUS, Ohio – One man is arrested in connection to a deadly shooting outside a Columbus library.

Police said 19-year-old Antonio Malone Jr. is charged with felonious assault.

The arrest announcement comes a day after Columbus Division of Police Chief Tom Quinlan asked the public for information in the case.

Shortly after Quinlan’s press conference on Tuesday, he said a witness came forward.

Police said video shows there were 15 to 20 people in the parking lot of the Driving Park Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library in the 1400 block of East Livingston Avenue on Monday around 7:45 p.m.

According to documents filed in Franklin County Municipal Court, witnesses told police Malone fired a gun into the crowd of people.

Police identified the person killed as 18-year-old Jeremiah Williams.

Police said the other victims as 20-year-old Anthony Williams and 17-year-old Jumada Williams.

Malone is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
